The construction industry, particularly concrete as a material, is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. This is largely due to the process of making cement, which is the binding agent for concrete, and involves heating limestone and clay to very high temperatures.
We need a different approach!
As engineers, we are passionate about working closely with our clients to address the carbon footprint of projects, reduce emissions and limit climate change. FuCiv is committed to preparing low carbon designs with a Life-Cycle approach, delivering sustainable projects and mitigating the impacts to the environment.
We believe that good health and wellbeing is important for all people. As such, we take responsibility in providing good health care for our employees. This includes providing good health insurance, partnering with doctors and health clinics, and providing an environment where the employee feels he/she can express him/her self during times of distress
There are many people all over the world, including our country, still without electricity. We have also seen the effects of fossil fuel on climate change, and the increasing cost of the energy produced. We will continue to work with private and public clients on clean energy projects, ensuring that sustainability is incorporated at all stages of design.
Many developing countries such as ours, are still at the place where many do not have access to the internet, and not enough growth in new business and innovation. Additionally, the right combination of infrastructure is needed for growth. We are committed to infrastructure asset management, and assisting our clients with right innovation for growth.
With the construction industry being one of the largest contributors to carbon emission, how we dispose of construction waste and pollutants are critical to achieving sustainability. As such, we constantly review our methods statements to ensure that we limit material waste, and in many instances we look at how site and construction waste can be re-used.
There is no country that is not experiencing the drastic effects of climate change. Global warming is causing long-lasting changes to our climate system, which threatens irreversible consequences if we do not act. We are committed to always include activities in our strategies that will limit increase in global mean temperature to two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, aiming at 1.5°C
